First of all, I would like to extend my sincere apology to all Malaysians and my fans after I end my competition in 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championship without any medal in Keirin and Sprint events.
.
Initally, it was quite tough for me to accept the fact of my fair results in this competition but I always believe that SUCCESS will be with me if I take this defeat as a motivation for me to excel in the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.
.
In the sprint event today, I clocked 10:024s in the Qualifying Round and it is a lot slower than my recent personal best of 9:774s at the Asian Track Championship 2018 which is also the current Asian record. It was pretty obvious that the viral infection has taken the turbocharge away from me.
.
I did advanced to the first round but I lost to the GB rider who was one of the fastest in the Qualifying Round.
.
After losing a tough race in Keirin a day earlier, today I had to face the reality that I won’t be on the podium in this year’s World Championship.
.
Moving forward, I am hoping that all Malaysians and my fans shall stay with me and allow me to make a come back in the near future for the nation and all of you.
.

Not exactly how I dreamt my UCI Track Cycling World Championship 2018 would end. To finish third in the first round and failed to make a comeback in the Repecharge was not something in our plan. I have fought till the end and given more than what I could.
.
Not to give any excuses but the extreme weather and the viral infection that I’ve got since arrived here in Apeldoorn had affected my performance. I can feel that my riding was far behind as compared to my performance at the recent Asia Championship in Nilai, Malaysia. On top of that, i’ve involved in crash during the warmup where my tyre was slipped at the banking when i was about to do my effort.
.
Whatever it is, I’ll always get up after I fall, and whether I run, walk or have to crawl, I’ll set my new goals and achieve them all.
.
There is an old saying says
“Difficult road often leads to a beautiful destination” and I truly believe this as I have been through the same thing all the time.
.
Saturday, 3rd March 2018 shall be my last event, 200m Sprint and I will definitely put my very best again in this event. I hope you all will still keep on supporting and pray for my success.
.
I would like to thank all my fans and sponsors for the love and support. I’ll take this defeat like a true champion. Something small to a giant.
