本圖《臺灣地圖》是傳統手繪青綠山水畫地圖,方位上東下西,左北右南,描述範圍東以山為界,西臨海,北至花屽嶼,南至沙碼磯頭,凡臺灣本島自然及人文景觀,以及包括澎湖群島在內之西岸近海島嶼、沙洲、礁石等,皆一一繪入。
Map of Taiwan is a traditional, hand-painted landscape painting; the left side of the map represents north. On the east, west, north, and south sides of the map are Taiwan’s mountains, sea, Huahan Islet, and Shamajitou, respectively. The map shows Taiwan’s natural landscapes including offshore west coast islands (including the Penghu Islands), sandbanks, and reefs.

My first hand-painted plate - 花開富貴 Peonies - the flower that symbolises beauty and wealth
I have always wanted to join the Gwon-glazed painting (Cantonese porcelain painting 廣彩) class but the class is always full 🤦🏻♀️. I finally managed to register the 3-hour workshop organized by Touch Ceramics earlier this year to learn more about Gwon-glazed painting, a Chinese traditional craftsmanship that is quickly disappearing.
The 3-hour course started with an introduction by an old master on Gwon-glazed painting. It was not as easy as I thought to draw on a plate - it was hard to put colours onto the plate. Swipe to see how the plate was like before it was put into the oven, and turned out the plate looks much better afterwards (it took a few days for the plate to get ready).
What I like the most is the bees drawn by the master but I chose to draw it by myself, what do you think about the bees I drawn 🤔

Thêu là một nghề thủ công đã tồn tại từ thời cổ đại, được ứng dụng toàn cầu để trang trí cho vải vóc, trưng bày và truyền tải thông điệp. Tương tự như nhiều hình thức và kỹ thuật thủ công khác, Châu Á và Trung Đông thường được biết đến như là cái nôi của nghệ thuật thêu thùa. Dù không biết chính xác nghệ thuật thêu xuất hiện ở Việt Nam từ thời điểm nào, dân gian thường tôn vinh Lê Công Hành (1606 – 1661) như ông tổ nghề thêu. Đại diện cho triều đình nhà Lê đi sứ tới Trung Hoa thời nhà Minh (1368-1644), Lê Công Hành được cho rằng đã kết hợp kỹ thuật thêu của cả Trung Hoa và Việt Nam để tạo thành một ngón nghề rất riêng và đã truyền nghề cho toàn bộ làng Quất Động, quê hương của ông.
Ngày hôm nay, Thuy Design House đề cao cả kỹ thuật truyền thống lẫn hiện đại, kết hợp trong các thiết kế ứng dụng thêu nổi, đính ghép và tranh gói vải – một kỹ thuật do ông Trần Văn Huy (hay còn được biết đến là Thuỷ Tiên) ở Sa Đéc sáng tạo ra.

Embroidery is an ancient form of needlework that has been used worldwide to embellish textiles for decorative and communicative purposes, and like many needle arts, is believed to have originated in Asia and the Middle East. While it is not known when embroidery art arrived in Vietnam, tribute is often paid to Lê Công Hành (1606-1661), who served as Vietnam’s envoy to China during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Lê Công Hành is believed to have combined both Chinese and Vietnamese embroidery artistry creating the unique technique employed in Vietnam today. His hometown of Quất Động is now known for its collective skill in this craft.
Today, Thuy Design House juxtaposes traditional and contemporary techniques using a combination of 3D embroidery, collage and painting known as tranh gói vải, a technique pioneered in the 20th century by Mr. Trần Văn Huy (known as Thủy Tiên), in Sa Đéc province, Southern Vietnam.

The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum opened in Chiayi at the end of 2015. The building's exquisite design incorporates Chinese, Indian, and Persian elements, as well as traditional types of calligraphy and painting techniques. The exhibits cover three major ancient Asian civilizations as well as a diverse range of Asian art culture.

這支盛大的皇家謁陵隊伍,由北京城得勝門出發,直至皇帝謁陵的目的地,離京城四十五公里外的天壽山,這裡是明朝歷代皇帝的陵寢區。
「出警圖」與「入蹕圖」雖是各自分開的二幅長卷,但是所繪的卻同是掃墓、巡視的過程,因而通常被合稱為「出警入蹕圖」。
畫家將皇室謁陵的整個時空歷程出發→抵達→返回,濃縮於二幅長卷之中。傳統觀賞「出警圖」是由右往左;「入蹕圖」則由左往右。「出警圖」繪皇帝騎馬,由陸路出京,「入蹕圖」畫皇帝坐船,走水路還宮。這兩幅圖卷不但是國立故宮博物院所收藏手卷畫作中最長的兩幅(「出警圖」的橫長有26公尺,「入蹕圖」更是超過30公尺),人物眾多,場面宏偉,更是歷代繪畫作品中少見的超級鉅作。
這二幅作品,均未署名作者姓名。但可以確定的是,得出動許多宮廷畫師的合力創作,才能完成這二幅佈局精采生動的鉅作。

In this handscroll is a great imperial procession making its way to pay respects at the imperial tombs. Departing from the Te-sheng ("Victory") Gate of the Peking city wall, the artists here depicted shops along the way and the appearance of ceremonial guards to the final destination of the imperial tombs, the final resting place for Ming dynasty emperors 45 kilometers from the capital at Mt. T'ien-shou.
"Departure Herald" is actually accompanied by another long handscroll painting entitled "Return Clearing". That work depicts the process of the tomb sweeping and inspection tour. Usually considered as a pair, they are collectively known as "Departure Herald and Return Clearing".
Encapsulated into both scrolls, the artists depicted the entire event over time and space from the departure, arrival at the destination, and return to the capital. The traditional means of viewing "Departure Herald" is from right to left, whereas "Return Clearing" is from left to right. "Departure Herald" represents the emperor riding a horse, taking land route from the capital, while in "Return Clearing", he is shown riding on a boat, taking a water route back to the palace.
These two scrolls are not only the two longest handscrolls in the collection of the National Palace Museum ("Departure Herald" measuring 26 meters and "Return Clearing" more than 30 meters in length), they represent a rare, enormous effort in terms of the number of figures and majesty of the scenery seen among surviving works of Chinese painting.
Neither of these two works were signed or sealed by the artists who painted them. However, judging from the style, content, and great effort, it most likely took a cooperative effort of many court artists in order to complete these two great masterpieces of imperial Chinese painting.
