〖醫護同行 罷工抗疫〗

醫管局員工陣線（下稱本會）第二次特別員工大會於今日順利舉行。是次大會共有會員3164投票，當中3123贊成罷工動議，罷工動議獲得通過。截至現時已有超過9000會員簽署罷工宣言，承諾與我們同行，一同發動為期五日的醫護界罷工。本會理事會在此衷心感謝各位會員的支持。

本會今日走到罷工這一步實屬迫不得已。「緊急應變級別督導委員會暨指揮中心」在特首林鄭月娥的領導之下，一連數日召開記者招待會公布最新的防疫措施。可惜，不論是所謂的「限制」通關、停課停工、醫學監察，抑或盡量調度防疫物資，完全並非對症下藥，最後都必然是於事無補。隨著世界各國政府陸續宣布封關，香港政府卻堅持「門常開」，所有醫療所需、並已於香港出現短缺的物資與人手，終有一日會因源源不絕的外地求診人士而耗盡。種種政府的失策只會令香港的情況越來越嚴峻，甚至達至一發不可收拾的局面。因此，本會絕對不相信在放任懷疑個案經由中國內地進入香港的前提下，任何所謂的防疫措施能發揮效用。

本會在此嚴正要求醫院管理局邀請「緊急應變級別督導委員會暨指揮中心」的主席林鄭月娥，出席本會明日（二月二日）與醫院管理局的談判。本會促請所有當權者可以直接面對前線醫護的質問，並確實回應我們的訴求，而非不斷偷換概念，回避問題。

本會於今日特別員工大會通過的五大訴求如下：

促請醫院管理局就以下兩點向政府發公開聲明施壓：
一· 禁止任何旅客經由中國入境
二· 落實確切方案確保口罩供應充足

促請醫院管理局確保員工工作環境的安全：
三· 提供足夠隔離病房，暫停非緊急服務
四· 提供足夠配套予照顧隔離病人的醫護
五. 公開承諾絕不秋後算賬

本會將會就以上五大訴求落實談判細節，若二月二日談判不能取得正面回應，本會將會發動為期五日的罷工行動。以下為詳細計劃：

【罷工計劃】

罷工計劃為二月三日開始一連五日，共兩階段。

首階段為停止醫管局非緊急服務，在二月三日將採取惡劣天氣下之工作安排，平日於八號熱帶氣旋警告信號生效時無需上班的會員將會參與罷工，包括普通科門診職員及行政人員等；其他部門則按照部門內部就惡劣天氣所作出的當值安排（俗稱颱風更）上班，即假設二月三日已懸掛八號熱帶氣旋警告信號，如當日按照颱風更無需上班的會員則參與罷工。此階段為期一日，若醫院管理局於二月三日 2100 前依然未能就本會五大訴求提出切實解決方案，罷工計劃將立即進入第二階段。

第二階段為動員本會所有會員罷工，即涵蓋所有職系同事，令醫管局只能提供有限度緊急服務。此階段為期四日，若醫院管理局於二月七日前 2359 前繼續漠視本會五大訴求，本會不排除再將行動升級。

Healthcare Workers: Together We Stand, Strike to Protect Hong Kong

The second Extraordinary General Meeting of the Hospital Authority Employees Alliance (HAEA) was held today. There were a total of 3164 votes cast by the members of the HAEA, in which 3123 voted “Yes” to the motion of strike action. As of now, there are more than 9000 HAEA members who have signed the pledge to strike. They have promised to stand with us in participating in the five-day strike plan. The Executive Committee of the HAEA would like to express our sincerest thanks to the tremendous support of our members.

The HAEA believes the decision to strike is not an easy one. In fact, we believe such actions are our last resort. In the past few days, led by our Chief Executive Carrie Lam, the Emergency Response Level Steering Committee cum Command Centre has held multiple press conferences to make announcements on various disease prevention and control measures. Yet, all of these measures (including the reduction on entry to Hong Kong via China, school suspension, medical surveillance, allocation of infection control supplies etc.) are doomed to fail when the government is adamant in refusing to address the crux of the problem. As country after country begins to announce the banning of foreigners’ entry from China, the Hong Kong government chooses to keep its doors wide open. The already limited resources and manpower in Hong Kong that are necessary for healthcare will soon be completely depleted, as an endless stream of non-Hong Kong residents continues to come into the city, seeking for medical care. The already dire situation in Hong Kong could only turn even direr, for the incompetence of our government continues to bring us to the point of no return. Thus, the HAEA refuses to believe that any of the so-called disease prevention and control measures implemented could be truly effective, when there is not a complete restriction of suspected cases entering Hong Kong via mainland China.

The HAEA now urges the Hospital Authority to invite Carrie Lam, the Chairperson of the Emergency Response Level Steering Committee cum Command Centre, to participate in our negotiation meeting with the Hospital Authority tomorrow (2nd February). The HAEA appeals to those in power to listen to the voices of the frontline healthcare workers directly, and to answer our demands in a constructive manner. All actions to mislead or evade the demands should be ceased completely.

The following Five Demands are endorsed in today’s Extraordinary General Meeting -

Regarding the below two points, the HAEA urges the Hospital Authority to issue a public statement to pressure the government into actions –
To forbid all travelers from entering Hong Kong via China
To implement constructive measures to ensure a sufficient supply of masks
Regarding the below three points, the HAEA urges the Hospital Authority to ensure a safe working environment for its staff -
To provide sufficient isolation wards, to stop all non-emergency services
To provide sufficient support and facilitation for healthcare staff caring for patients under isolation
To publicly commit to not taking any disciplinary actions in retaliation
The HAEA will prepare the negotiation details regarding the above Five Demands. If a constructive response cannot be obtained on 2nd February, the HAEA will initiate a five-day strike action. Below is the detailed plan -

Strike Plan

The strike plan will commence on 3rd February for five days in two stages.

The first stage is aiming at suspending the non-emergency services of the Hospital Authority. Existing working arrangement under adverse weather will be adopted on 3rd February. HAEA members who do not need to work under Typhoon Signal No. 8, including staff working in out-patient clinics, administrative staff and so on, will join the strike. For other HAEA members, they will follow the current practice under individual departmental guidelines for adverse weather. The overall arrangement is similar to the situation as if Typhoon Signal No. 8 is hoisted on 3rd February. The duration of the first stage is 1 day, if the Hospital Authority does not propose any concrete solutions to the Five Demands as mentioned by 3rd February at 2100, the strike will be escalated to the second stage.

All members of the HAEA regardless of ranks or specialties will participate in the second stage of strike, aiming that only limited emergency services can be provided under the Hospital Authority. The duration of this stage is 4 days, if the Hospital Authority still does not propose any concrete solutions to the Five Demands by 7th February at 2359, the HAEA will consider to further escalate the degree of industrial action.

This weekend, I had the privilege and honor of leading a host of educators from schools across Malaysia on two breakout sessions at the Leaps of Knowledge conference by FrogAsia :

1. Respectful Teaching in the Classroom
2. Protective Behaviors and Body Safety for Students and Teachers

The second workshop is a hard one to teach. It’s uncomfortable, it stirs up the ugly for some and makes the room heavy with that sick feeling in your stomach because these are your teeny tinies, your little ones, and these are the things that no one wants to talk about but everyone needs to.

But we have to start the conversations, work together, link arms, fight till your last breath and go down trying.

NO MEANS NO
Teach and role model your little one and students to respect each other’s boundaries and that no’s matter.

PRIVATE PARTS STAY PRIVATE
Anything covered by modest swimwear should stay private including in photos. When teaching about private parts, avoid nicknames and call body parts by their names. Breasts, penis, vagina, buttocks and mouths.

NO CLOSED DOORS
Doors only close if you’re alone and need privacy. If you’re with someone else, the doors always stay open. It protects both the adult and the child.

BUDDY SYSTEM
If you’re taking a student to the bathroom etc, always invite another child. Again, it keeps you and the child safe. It protects you by giving you a witness and it role models boundaries to a child and never to go alone w someone else.

SIDE HUGS AND HIGH FIVES
Physical contact should only be limited to side hugs and high fives

NO SECRETS
Predators groom their victims by teaching them to keep secrets.

LISTEN TO YOUR GUT
As an adult and a child and a mama, your gut is ALWAYS right. Listen to it.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
Teach your child a body’s threat response when it senses danger : sweaty, heart beats fast, eyes grow big, feels anxious and wants to cry, feels like running away, needs to pee or poop.

LISTEN TO YOUR CHILD
Pay attention and listen to the little things. Believe them. There is nothing so small or terrible that you can’t tell anyone is biggest thing we can teach them.

SAFETY NETWORK
Who are the protectors in your child’s life? Who are the five that will always hear him/her no matter what. Believe her, fight for him, build a shield wall for them.

Protective behaviors for teachers, parents, doctors, nurses, little ones. How do we put safeguards in place, how do we teach our littles body safety and that they have a right to feel safe at all times.

We advocate. We make loud noises in quiet places. We do the unpopular and the uncomfortable. We show up and stand up in the dark, together, always stronger, we build walls, we keep their innocence, we stay vigilant and banded together - regardless of race, gender, or title.

We stand together.

The HKTB was always promoting Hong Kong as a safe city to visitors. Yet, during the past weeks, not only did the assault in Yuen Long destroyed this longstanding reputation of Hong Kong, but we also saw the police forcefully disperse the protestors inside a shopping mall, which aggravated the tension and led to standoffs and casualties. On the contrary, we have seen the people of Hong Kong safeguarding the city and epitomising the bright side of humanity during this period of social turmoil - protesters parting ways to let an ambulance pass, collecting and recycling wastes, and protecting foreign journalists and strangers. The Lennon Walls that sprang up across the city also demonstrated the solidarity and determination of the people of Hong Kong to fight for the freedom they rightly deserve.

The protests no doubt have an impact on the tourism industry, it is however not the protestors but the government that is to blame. Carrie Lam, the self-professed “mother” of Hong Kong people, can no longer shed her responsibilities in causing a divided Hong Kong. We hereby solemnly urge the government to respond to the five demands of the people and set up a Commission of Inquiry to seriously look into allegations of the police’s abuse of power and collusion with members of the triads, and give society a truthful explanation.

While it is our job to promote Hong Kong, it is our duty as Hongkongers to protect our city. We stand by all those who love Hong Kong and who are protecting our city. Please stay safe in this historic battle for freedom and justice.//

啱啱收到旅遊發展局職員send message俾我，請我代為發放聲明，80多位旅發局職員聲明如下：

「我們是香港旅遊發展局的一班員工，作為政府資助機構一員，職能是在世界各地宣傳和推廣香港為旅遊勝地。近期，本港不同專業團體、政府部門及公營機構員工，均先後就《逃犯條例》修訂引起的連串爭議發聲，我們亦希望表達我們的聲音。
過去兩個月，我們見到我們熱愛的香港變得不一樣──數以百萬計市民接連走上街頭，表達反對《逃犯條例》修訂，甚至有市民以死相諫，但依然得不到政府的正面回應，反以「暫緩」、「壽終正寢」等語言偽術，企圖蒙混過關。更甚的是，政府縱容警方濫用暴力，以催淚彈、布袋彈、橡膠子彈及海綿彈等對付示威者，甚至是記者、議員，令整個香港徹底撕裂。
最令我們痛心的是7月21日當晚，我們看到白衣暴徒衝入西鐵車廂，無差別攻擊市民，而警方卻遲遲未有到場，附近警署反而落閘，999又未能打通，種種跡象，無法不令人質疑，這是警黑勾結的大龍鳳。警方事後竟然還要砌辭狡辯，指因為大部分警力調配至上環，以致需要花39分鐘時間才能調動足夠警力到場。而特首林鄭月娥更將中聯辦及上環的示威活動，與元朗恐襲混為一談，言談間認為國徽較市民人身安全更重要，實在令我們非常憤怒。

We are a group of staff members of the Hong Kong Tourism Board. As employees of a government-subvented organisation tasked with promoting Hong Kong to visitors worldwide, we would like to join other public bodies, civil servants and professional organisations in expressing our indignation over the incidents in the past weeks that were triggered by the proposed extradition bill.

In the recent two months, the city we once proudly called home and a world-class travel destination has undergone drastic changes. Over a million Hong Kong residents have taken to the street to voice their opposition against the proposed extradition bill. Gripped by a sense of helplessness and despair about the bill and the degradation of Hong Kong’s political landscape, some even took their own lives. Despite all these, the government regrettably refused to respond directly to the demands of the people - whom it is supposed to serve - to withdraw the bill, but rather employed double-talk in an attempt to fool the public. And to further split society asunder, the government gave the police tacit approval to use unnecessary violence, from tear gas to beanbag rounds, react rounds and rubber bullets, on the protestors, most of whom were unarmed and adhering to the etiquette of peaceful demonstration, and even on journalists and legislators.

What saddened and outraged us the most, however, was seeing thugs dressed in white beating people indiscriminately in Yuen Long MTR station in the evening of July 21. Not only did the police arrive at the scene unreasonably late, but they even closed the doors of the police stations when people tried to get help, while the emergency hotline 999 could not be got through. It is difficult to make sense of such police behaviour, which all seem to suggest collusion with the attackers. The police’s explanation that the 39 minutes in delay for the police to arrive at the crime scene was a result of the deployment of the majority of the police force - which comprises about 30,000 members of staff - to Sheung Wan sounded like nothing but an excuse.

At the media stand-up the day following the attack, Chief Executive Carrie Lam clearly attached greater importance to the protest in Sheung Wan which was political in nature than the violence that took place in Yuen Long which caused bodily harm to innocent people, and to a large extend, equivocate the natures between the two. In fact, she even agreed at one point that the national emblem was more valuable than the lives of the assault victims. Such disregard for human rights and ethical principles is hair-raising.

EDEN KAI [イーデン・カイ] a.k.a. Yusuke Aizawa (鮎澤悠介), had the great honor to meet the late Legendary Concert Promoter Tom Moffatt who invited Eden to Tom Moffatt Productions with Producer Alan Arato. Mahalo! Uncle Tom wanted to listen to Eden's debut CD album "TOUCH THE SKY" and meet the new rising star who Uncle Tom called "Michael Jackson" has been causing recent excitement and buzz in the Hawaii media. They were impressed with his recent stellar performance at the Miss Hawaii America pageant and mentioned Eden Kai is the first artist in Hawaii they have ever seen become a household name in Hawaii so quickly. They met on October 5, 2015 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Big thanks and much MAHOLOs to Uncle Tom for his awesome support and believing in the amazing future ahead for Eden Kai and for bringing the world's greatest artists to Hawaii from Elvis, the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Three Dog Night, Journey, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston...Over five decades all of the biggest concerts and shows in Hawaii were promoted by the one and only Tom Moffatt, Hawaii's Legend and true Legacy. It was a huge experience for Eden, like meeting all of the world's superstars at one time, especially since Michael Jackson and his music has been a major inspiration. :-)

Update: Very sad that not long afterwards Tom Moffatt passed away in 2016. RIP Uncle Tom. Thank you so much for realizing and encouraging Eden Kai to continue his passions and dreams!

About EDEN KAI:
