どうもこんばんは。金髪の異端児、たかしです。今回はなんと9ヶ国語喋れる人気YouTuberのBig Bongさんをゲストにお呼びしました！Bongさんはその持ち前の語学力を活かし、グローバルな感覚のYouTubeチャンネルで大活躍しています。Bongさんのチャンネルを見ると、色んな言語を楽しく学べるだけじゃなく、世界の国々の文化や性格などが知れて、めちゃくちゃ面白いです！
今回はそんなBig Bongさんをゲストにお呼びし、寶船チャンネルにとって初のリモート対談を行いました！トークの中ではBongさんに、『Bongさんってどんな事やってるの？』『9ヶ国語喋れるってどんな感じ？』『日本文化ってどんな印象？』といったトピックでお話を伺ってきました。今回のトークもめちゃくちゃ面白いです！あまりにも盛り上がったので、最後にBongさんにあの日本の超有名曲まで歌ってもらいました。さて、どんな曲だったのでしょうか？今回も最後まで見逃せませんよ！
そもそも僕らがBongさんに出会ったのは、寶船が2014年から毎年出演し続けているフランス・パリの『Japan Expo』っていうフェスティバルでした。そのJapan Expoのフランス語の通訳MCとして、Bongさんがいたんですよね。2014年当時は、パリのフェスティバルで緊張しまくってる僕らでしたが、Bongさんはすでにその時からシュッとしててジェントルマンの風格がありました。
そんな感じでステージで共演しているうちに、プライベートでもめちゃくちゃ仲良くなってきて、フランスでも日本でも一緒に遊びに行ったりする関係になってきたわけです。
今回のBongさんとのトークの中で一番面白かったのは、外国の人が思う“日本人のイメージ”の話ですね。僕ら日本人が自分で思う日本のイメージって、なんか“静か”で“シャイ”で“おしとやか”で、みたいな感じなのかなってなんとなく思うじゃないですか。でも実際海外の人に日本のイメージ聞いてみると全然違う答えが返ってきたりするんですよね。Bongさんいわく、日本人って何事にも情熱的でエネルギッシュ、つまり“気合い”を感じるイメージだって言ってました。この話はめちゃくちゃ面白かったです。
そうか。確かに言われてみれば、世界がイメージするジャパンコンテンツって、一般的にはアニメ・マンガ・ゲームだったりしますもんね。そう考えてみると、ドラゴンボールにしても、ナルトにしても、鬼滅の刃にしても、みんなどこか“気合い”を感じるキャラクターだったりしますよね。
そうか。海外の人からすると、日本人にそういう世界観を求めてるんだ、ってBongさんに改めて教えられた気がしました。寶船がかなり激しい“気合い”のパフォーマンスをやってる感じがまさに日本っぽいって言われた時は、本当に嬉しかったなぁ。自分たちのやってることは間違ってないって確認できました。
対談の最後には、Bongさんが歌まで歌ってくれて本当に心温まりましたね。やっぱ世界って音楽で繋がるんだって、めっちゃ思いました。
今回は寶船チャンネルにとって初のリモート対談という形でやってみましたが、本当に大成功だったと思います。リモートだと世界のどこにいても、こうやって撮影が出来るのが凄いですよね。今後も寶船は世界中から色んな方をゲストにお呼びしたいと思ってます！ぜひご期待下さい♪

During this year's Polyglot Conference in Fukuoka, Japan, I met up with fellow YouTuber and language learner BigBong to ask him some questions. I've been following his YouTube for a while and it was so cool to meet him in person! He gave a talk on being half Japanese and I found I could relate a lot to him.
