【一月新登場美劇】
新年是最重要的電影檔期之一，惟在瘟疫政治下，政府一聲令下戲院就要關閉，不單戲迷無癮，更令電影發行公司頭痛。猶幸1月有不少好劇！
元旦日有Netflix的迷你劇《The Serpent》，講述上世紀七十年代，一名荷蘭新進外交官被派駐到曼谷大使館，其後走進了犯罪世界，開展追捕法籍越南印度混血連環殺手Charles Sobhraj的真實故事。有「比堅尼殺手」之稱的他，曾犯下超過廿樁謀殺案，受害者主要是西方年輕遊客；直到1976年被捕，及後判處終身監禁，現仍在尼泊爾服刑。此劇找來《Un prophète》的凱薩獎影帝Tahar Rahim飾演連環殺手，合共只有八集，相信一定精彩刺激！
緊接著有NBC的《Mr. Mayor》 － 由《30 Rock》的Tina Fey與Robert Carlock共同主創及撰寫劇本，找來金球獎視帝Ted Danson飾演的退休企業家Neil Bremer，為證明自己而參選洛杉磯市長……不少評論人都認定此片影射Donald Trump，但更值得留意是此片走諧趣路線，無論故事主角要面對四方八面的質疑與攻擊，還有與家人的互動，亦相當有趣味，引發連串笑彈。參演的還有《Succession》的Holly Hunter、《Me, Myself and I》的Bobby Moynihan、《Crazy Ex-Girlfriend》的Vella Lovell、《Orange Is the NewBlack》的Mike Cabellon以及《Speechless》的Kyla Kenedy等。

「揹著死去獄友的命，我必須活下去。」2019年12月16日，在大批武裝警察的實彈戒備下，阿根廷首都埃塞薩國際機場（EZE）迎來了一名身分特殊的「雙面通緝犯」——66歲的阿根廷裔法國公民，馬里奧．桑多瓦（Mario Sandoval）。
在法國，桑多瓦曾是巴黎第三大學的教授，是法國頂尖的拉美專家，甚至當過前總統薩柯奇的國防顧問；但在老家阿根廷，桑多瓦卻是惡名昭彰的「屠夫警察」，喜好瘋狂侵入式電刑的他，綽號叫「鐵串烤肉」（Churrasco），是1976-1983年的「骯髒戰爭」期間，負責替軍政府獨裁捕抓、刑求、並處決500多名異議份子的劊子手。
而這篇故事，則是關於一名失蹤43年的大學生，如何在「人間蒸發」的數十年後，繼續引導阿根廷追捕這遲來太久的「正義」。
