Overview:
Malaysia's tertiary, TVET and higher education system has been battered by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic which has affected not just finances and student numbers but the very foundations of the mission, vision and values of the system.
Do Malaysian universities deliver on their core mission? What is that mission? Do students get a fulfilling experience that equips them for life or even the future of work? Are academics respected, well prepared and supported in their mission?
What alternative models are available and how can the Malaysian tertiary, TVET and higher education system be reformed to face the future?
This webinar by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Malaysia will bring together thought leaders in Malaysian higher education and TVET along with graduates who have recently experienced alternative systems to share their views on the future of work and education and the possibilities of reform.
(Registration is required. Zoom Meeting ID and passcode will be sent via email.)

(以下只是option 1,Homeschooling under the homeschool statute是我考慮的。還有option 2 Homeschooling with a private or denominational school 大家可以自己研究)
1. Meet the teacher qualifications.
You must be qualified to operate a homeschool program by either:
instructing only your child and being supervised by a certificated person (i.e., the certificated person and the parent together plan the educational objectives; the certificated person has a minimum average of one contact hour per week with the child; and the certificated person evaluates the child’s progress); or
instructing only your child and having either 45 college quarter credits or the equivalent in semester credits (approximately 30 semester credits, since one quarter credit equals two-thirds of a semester credit); or
instructing only your child and having completed a course in home-based education at a postsecondary institution or a vocational-technical institute (these courses generally do not require an extensive time commitment); or
instructing only your child and being “deemed sufficiently qualified to provide home-based instruction by the superintendent of the local school district.”
2. File a notice of intent.
You must annually file a signed declaration of intent to homeschool by September 15 or within two weeks of the beginning of any public school quarter, trimester, or semester. File with the local superintendent or with the superintendent of a nonresident district that accepts the homeschool student as a transfer student. The declaration must include the name and age of your child, specify whether a certificated person will be supervising the instruction, and be written in a format prescribed by the superintendent of public instruction. HSLDA has a declaration of intent form available for our members’ use, which you can find below.
3. Teach for the required number of days.
You must teach 180 days per year, or average 1,000 hours per year.
4. Teach the required subjects.
Your homeschool curriculum must include occupational education, science, math, language, social studies, history, health, reading, writing, spelling, and the development of an appreciation of art and music.
5. Conduct an annual assessment.
You have two options for the required annual assessments. The results of the assessment do not need to be submitted to the public schools but must be retained as part of your child’s permanent school record.
The assessment options are:
Ensure that a standardized test approved by the state board is administered annually to your child by a “qualified” person (i.e. anyone qualified by the test publisher to administer the test), or
Have your child evaluated by a certificated person.
歡迎有興趣一起自學的媽媽可以多交流,但我大概也沒有比大家懂更多就是了😂
僅此附上我新開張的 #羅比媽自學小教室 照片,目前只有兩個實驗生就是了~哈哈哈

Congratulations to Team 🇸🇬 at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition (WSC) in Russia!
The WSC is the world championship for vocational and technical skills. This was our largest contingent – 32 youths. Team SG won 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, and 17 Medallions for Excellence. We placed 9th out of 63 countries – our best-ever performance!
The team comprised students from our polytechnics, Institute of Technical Education, Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. They competed in 29 skill areas, including 6 new categories like Water Technology and Cyber Security, in both of which we won the bronze medal. These reflect the rapidly-evolving needs of the world, and I’m glad that Singapore’s youth are poised to meet future challenges. – LHL

ชมขั้นตอนการผลิต โดยละเอียด All-New 2019 BMW 3-Series ที่โรงงานในเมือง San Luis Potosi เม็กซิโก
San Luis Potosi/Munich. High-level representatives of the Mexican government and the BMW Group officially opened the company’s new automotive plant in San Luis Potosi in Mexico today.
Oliver Zipse, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production, stated during the ceremony: “The new plant in San Luis Potosi is an important pillar of the BMW Group’s global production strategy. We aim to achieve a balance in our production and sales in the different world regions. We want to strengthen our footprint in important and growing markets. Plant San Luis Potosi will significantly boost our regional production flexibility in the Americas. From here, we are delivering our locally produced BMW 3 Series Sedan to customers worldwide.”
The company has invested more than one billion US dollars in the new production location. The plant, which already employs 2,500 people, will have a capacity of up to 175,000 units per year once the ramp-up phase is fully completed.
San Luis Potosi will build the BMW brand’s most successful model series: the BMW 3 Series Sedan. In the company’s more than 100-year history, this iconic car has come to represent the heart of the brand, setting the standard for dynamic performance, efficiency and design.
The ceremony in San Luis Potosi was attended by guests including Dr. Alfonso Romo Garza, Head of the Office of the Presidency of the Mexican Republic; Dr Juan Manuel Carreras López, governor of the state of San Luis Potosi; Oliver Zipse, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production; Milagros Caiña-Andree, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Human Resources and Labour Relations, and Dr Andreas Wendt, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Purchasing and Supplier Network.
Head of Human Resources Milagros Caiña-Andree highlighted the BMW Group’s strong commitment to vocational education: “Our highly-trained employees form a strong foundation for our new BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosi and help us meet high quality standards for our premium products. Our dual vocational training programme is already in its fourth generation.”
At an innovative new training centre on the plant grounds, all new staff and apprentices are trained in the BMW Group’s latest production processes and technologies, based on the dual vocational training model. The centre is not just focused on expanding employees’ and apprentices’ technical skills, but also boosting motivation, enthusiasm and team spirit.
The plant is working with four technical institutes in this area and has already trained 250 apprentices in technical occupations.
Dr Andreas Wendt, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Purchasing and Supplier Network: “We have a strong supplier base we can build on in Mexico, having sourced high-quality, technologically sophisticated and innovative products from here for more than ten years. Every BMW Group vehicle today already contains at least one part from one of our 220 Mexican suppliers. Our new plant will benefit from short supply routes and the high level of flexibility this gives our supply chain.”
The BMW Group has operated its own local purchasing office in Mexico since 2008. In 2017, the office relocated from Mexico City to San Luis Potosi, where it now employs 105 people. The BMW Group’s purchasing volume in Mexico reached USD 2.5 billion last year.
