《墨黛竹虛》Drawing for #ArtCentral VIP giftset

這次我的任務是想像如何以具未來感的視覺元素重現古人的竹棚松煙制墨流程。我嘗試先建一個室內場景模型作為骨架，方便修改。
我想像在一個實驗室中可完善所有松煙制墨流程。

先是外頭的巨大古松，然後在室內流掉膠香的松木，之後就是所有儀器的主角，窯。

傳統的窯身長十幾丈，安放松木的入口處便是燒木的位置。隨窯身的入口處至尾處延伸，上方分佈了四至五個小孔，排放窯內的餘煙；作為制墨用的煙粒則殘留於窯身內壁，待松木燒過數天，再待內壁冷卻至足以讓人進去，便可入窯刮取煙粒。

為何會有數個小孔，是因為不同區域的煙粒具不同的質量。愈接近燒松木的入口處，煙粒愈粗，質量愈差，最接近的只適合粗糙不講究的油漆，而中間偏前的則可作為印刷的墨，偏後的則可作為學生用墨；隨窯身延伸至尾處，煙粒就會愈細，適合於更專業的國畫與書法。窯身最尾端是最精細的清煙，適合做質量最佳的墨。所以，每一次松煙制墨都會一下子製造出不同質量的墨。

我則先透過了解製墨過程，再想像如何以具未來感的視覺方式展現。
燒煙後就是加工的步驟。畫中展示了各種器材與人物，但為突顯松煙制墨的主角 － 窯，沒有刻意清晰交代，就在此以文字作少許補充。

大概就是把剛收集完的松煙放入混合沸水的牛皮膠，再以冰片、麝香掩蓋牛皮膠的臭味甚至加添墨香。牛皮膠可讓煙粒從粉狀變為結塊，作為之後的墨條。為了確保混合墨團結塊的過程是均勻而不會有軟硬度與濕度之差，需要持續碾壓結塊，以至其混合盡可能均勻，並排出其內裏的空氣。有點像壓麵的過程。

碾壓結塊通常先以碾壓機作初處混合，再以人手用槌敲打，再以揉捏的手感確認墨團已達至理想狀態。

最後便是放入模具配合壓軋椅按壓成為墨條。模具通常會印上品牌的名字以及各種裝飾用的花邊。按需要刮剪墨條作為進一步處理，放置於室內陰乾便完成。

How’s Ale’s first attempt at drawing our family portrait? Pretty good I say! My only grouse is how come I’m depicted as so much fairer than the rest??? 😆🤷‍♂️ Anyway, her self-portrait is awesome too! She’s currently into all things manga and anime so she has been experimenting different sketching styles on the iPad (8th gen) and it’s such a breeze to use...especially with the Apple Pencil!

Even better that there’s Family Sharing too - extremely useful for families with kids - because it makes it so easy for up to 6 family members to share App Store purchases, subscriptions and even iCloud - all with one’s own Apple ID. Plus I can set permissions remotely with Screen Time for Ale too, and regulate downloads from my own device with ‘Ask to Buy’. Now I shall ask her to go learn how to use LumaFusion so that I can delegate my video editing work to her. 🤣🤣🤣
