จากเอกสารที่ยื่นต่อ ก.ล.ต. เปิดเผยว่า BlackRock ได้ลงทุนเกือบ 400 ล้านดอลลาร์ในหุ้น Riot Blockchain และ Marathon Digital Holdings

BlackRock เป็นผู้จัดการกองทุนข้ามชาติ มีมูลค่ากว่า 9 ล้านล้านเหรียญ ได้เปิดเผยว่า บริษัทได้ทำการลงทุน ในบริษัทขุด Bitcoin ( BTC ) ชั้นนำ 2 แห่ง ที่ซื้อขายในตลาดหลักทรัพย์

การยื่นข้อมูลต่อคณะกรรมการกำกับหลักทรัพย์และตลาดหลักทรัพย์อเมริกา ข้อมูลจาก Forbes แสดงให้เห็นว่า BlackRock ถือหุ้น 6.71% ใน Marathon Digital Holdings และ 6.61% ของ Riot Blockchain

การลงทุนโดยรวม มีมูลค่าเกือบ 384 ล้านดอลลาร์ โดย BlackRock ได้ซื้อหุ้น Marathon มูลค่าเกือบ 207 ล้านดอลลาร์ และหุ้นของ Riot มูลค่า 176 ล้านดอลลาร์

ตามข้อมูลของ ETF.com iShares Russell 2000 ETF ของ BlackRock ได้ถือหุ้นใน Marathonและ Riot มากกว่า กองทุน ETF อื่น ๆ ในขณะที่ iShares Russell 2000 Value ETF อยู่ในอันดับที่สาม ของ ranks

ถึงแม้บริษัทนี้จะเกิดจากการควบรวมบริษัทในปี 1987 แต่ประวัติของแต่ละบริษัทที่อยู่ในเครือถูกย้อนไปไกลกว่านั้น

Moët & Chandon เป็นผู้ผลิตแชมเปญ ก่อตั้งในปี 1743
Hennessy ผู้ผลิตบรั่นดีคอนญัก ก่อตั้งในปี 1765
และ Louis Vuitton ผู้ผลิตกระเป๋าเดินทางแบบทรงเหลี่ยม ในปี 1854 เพื่อให้ชนชั้นสูงวางบนรถม้าได้อย่างสะดวกสบาย ก่อนจะกลายเป็นตำนานของกระเป๋าในเวลาต่อมา

- Hermès

กิจการนี้ก่อตั้งขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี 1837 โดย Thierry Hermès
แรกเริ่มบริษัททำธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับการผลิตอานม้าสำหรับชนชั้นสูง ต่อมาลูกชายก็ได้ขยายธุรกิจ และให้กำเนิดกระเป๋าเพื่อแบกสัมภาระไปกับการเดินทางบนหลังม้า จนกลายเป็นกระเป๋าที่มีรูปแบบเอกลักษณ์ และขยายไปสู่เครื่องแต่งกายต่าง ๆ

ปัจจุบัน Hermès เป็นแบรนด์หรูที่ไม่ได้ควบรวมกับแบรนด์อื่น ๆ
ซึ่งถึงแม้จะเป็นแบรนด์เดี่ยว แต่มูลค่าของ Hermès ก็สูงถึง 5.3 ล้านล้านบาท

- EssilorLuxottica

สมาคมช่างทำแว่นตาแห่งปารีส หรือ Société des Lunetiers (SL) หรือ Essel ได้ถูกจัดตั้งขึ้นในปี 1849 ให้เป็นศูนย์รวมของช่างฝีมือ เพื่อพัฒนากระบวนการทำแว่นตา ทั้งกรอบแว่นและเลนส์แว่นตา

ต่อมา Essel ได้ควบรวมกับบริษัททำเลนส์ Silor กลายเป็น Essilor
และก้าวขึ้นมาเป็นผู้นำในการผลิตและจัดจำหน่ายเลนส์สายตา โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มเลนส์ตระกูล Varilux และล่าสุดได้ควบรวมกับบริษัท Luxottica บริษัทผลิตกรอบแว่นตาที่ใหญ่สุดในโลกของอิตาลี

ทำให้บริษัทนี้ก้าวขึ้นมาเป็นผู้นำเรื่องแว่นตาของโลก ที่ครอบคลุมตั้งแต่เลนส์ ไปจนถึงแว่นตา
และมีมูลค่าตลาด 2.6 ล้านล้านบาท

- Kering

เช่นเดียวกับ LVMH ถึงแม้ Kering จะก่อตั้งในปี 1963 แต่ประวัติของแต่ละบริษัทที่อยู่ในเครือถูกย้อนไปไกลกว่านั้น

บริษัทที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดในเครือ ก็คือ Boucheron แบรนด์เครื่องประดับสุดหรูของฝรั่งเศส ที่ก่อตั้งมาตั้งแต่ปี 1858 และเป็นที่โปรดปรานอย่างมากของชนชั้นสูงในยุคนั้น

Kering ยังเป็นเจ้าของแบรนด์เครื่องแต่งกายและเครื่องประดับชั้นนำอีกมากมาย
ทั้ง Yves Saint Laurent ของฝรั่งเศส และของประเทศอื่น ๆ เช่น Gucci และ Bottega Veneta ของอิตาลี

ด้วยความที่มีแบรนด์หรูระดับโลกมากมาย มูลค่าบริษัทของ Kering จึงสูงถึง 3.7 ล้านล้านบาท

- L'Oréal

ก่อตั้งในปี 1909 โดยนักเคมีชาวฝรั่งเศส ชื่อ Eugène Schueller ได้คิดค้นน้ำยาย้อมสีผม แล้วได้รับเสียงตอบรับจากช่างทำผมในเมืองปารีสเป็นอย่างมาก

จนทำให้เขาตั้งเป็นบริษัท Société Française de Teintures Inoffensives pour Cheveux ขึ้นมา และต่อมาก็เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น L'Oréal

แต่หลังจากที่ Eugène Schueller เสียชีวิต แล้ว François Dalle ได้เข้ามาบริหารงานแทน

ช่วงหลังสงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง Christian Dior ดีไซเนอร์อิสระ ได้รับจ้างออกแบบหมวกให้กับแวดวงไฮโซ ที่ผ่านชีวิตล้มลุกคลุกคลานจนได้เปิดห้องเสื้อของตัวเองในปี 1946

เขาสร้างความตื่นตาตื่นใจให้กับวงการแฟชั่นของปารีส ด้วยคอลเลกชันแรก ที่มีชื่อว่า “New Look” เป็นชุดเข้ารูป และกระโปรงสุ่มบาน ก่อนจะขยายผลิตภัณฑ์ไปสู่น้ำหอม “Miss Dior” อันโด่งดัง

หลังจากนั้นแบรนด์ Dior ก็ผ่านการล้มลุกคลุกคลาน จนท้ายที่สุดก็ได้มาอยู่ภายใต้การบริหารของ Bernard Arnault แห่ง LVMH ในปี 1984

Dior ก็เติบโตจนเป็นอาณาจักรแฟชั่นที่มียอดขายหลักล้านล้านบาท และมีมูลค่าตลาด 4.8 ล้านล้านบาท..

แต่ฝรั่งเศสไม่ได้มีแค่แบรนด์หรูเท่านั้น..

นอกจากทั้ง 6 บริษัทแบรนด์หรูที่กล่าวมาข้างต้น บริษัท Top 10 ของฝรั่งเศสยังประกอบไปด้วย

ในช่วงยุคปฏิวัติอุตสาหกรรม ถึงแม้อุตสาหกรรมในฝรั่งเศสจะไม่ได้โดดเด่นเท่าอังกฤษหรือเยอรมนีในยุคเดียวกัน แต่องค์ความรู้ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ของฝรั่งเศสก็ไม่น้อยหน้าใคร

นักวิทยาศาสตร์ชาวฝรั่งเศส Pierre-Émile Martin เป็นผู้พัฒนาเตากระทะ หรือ Open Hearth Furnace เพื่อใช้สำหรับหลอมเหล็กกล้าซึ่งต้องใช้อุณหภูมิสูงมาก

2 พี่น้องครอบครัว Schneider เดินทางจากเมืองบ้านเกิดที่อยู่ไม่ไกลจากชายแดนเยอรมนี มาลงทุนสร้างเตาหลอมเหล็กในเมือง Le Creusot ในปี 1836 จนกลายเป็นผู้มีบทบาทสำคัญในอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กกล้าและเครื่องจักร

ไม่นานก็ได้ขยายเข้าสู่อุตสาหกรรมก่อสร้างและไฟฟ้า
ปัจจุบัน Schneider Electric คือผู้นำในอุตสาหกรรมไฟฟ้า ระบบอัตโนมัติ การควบคุมอาคาร และการบริหารจัดการพลังงานระดับโลก มีมูลค่าบริษัท 3.3 ล้านล้านบาท

- Sanofi

ปี 2020 ฝรั่งเศสส่งออกยารักษาโรค มากเป็นอันดับ 4 ของโลก คิดเป็นมูลค่ากว่า 9.3 แสนล้านบาท

หนึ่งในจุดเริ่มต้นของอุตสาหกรรมยาในฝรั่งเศส มาจากห้องทดลองของนักวิทยาศาสตร์ ที่คนทั้งโลกจะต้องคุ้นเคยกับชื่อของเขา คือ Louis Pasteur ผู้ให้กำเนิดกระบวนการพาสเจอไรซ์ หรือการใช้ความร้อนฆ่าเชื้อโรค

Louis Pasteur เป็นผู้วิจัยและพัฒนาวัคซีนพิษสุนัขบ้า และผู้ก่อตั้ง Pasteur Institute สถาบันวิจัยด้านวัคซีนในปี 1887

จนในปี 1974 Pastuer Production ได้ถูกจัดตั้งขึ้นเพื่อเป็นโรงงานผลิตวัคซีน และได้ถูกควบรวมเข้ากับบริษัทยาอีกหลายแห่ง จนท้ายที่สุดก็อยู่ภายใต้บริษัทยา Aventis

ต่อมาในปี 2004 Aventis ก็ได้ควบรวมกับบริษัท Sanofi และทำให้ Sanofi กลายเป็นบริษัทยาที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในฝรั่งเศส มีผลิตภัณฑ์หลากหลาย ทั้งยารักษาโรคเรื้อรัง ยารักษาโรคมะเร็ง วัคซีน
รวมถึงวัคซีนโควิด 19 ที่กำลังทำการวิจัยอยู่ในระยะที่ 3 ด้วย

ด้วยผลิตภัณฑ์ที่หลากหลาย Sanofi จึงมีมูลค่าตลาดมากถึง 4.3 ล้านล้านบาท

- Air Liquide

Georges Claude วิศวกรชาวฝรั่งเศส ได้พัฒนากระบวนการทำให้อากาศกลายเป็นของเหลว เพื่อแยกส่วนประกอบสำคัญในอากาศ คือก๊าซไนโตรเจน และก๊าซออกซิเจนออกจากกัน

กระบวนการนี้ทำให้ได้ก๊าซบริสุทธิ์ ซึ่งจะมีส่วนสำคัญอย่างมากสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมต่าง ๆ

ก๊าซไนโตรเจน ใช้สำหรับการถนอมอาหาร อุตสาหกรรมอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ และปิโตรเคมี

ในขณะที่ก๊าซออกซิเจน นอกจากจะใช้ทางการแพทย์แล้ว ยังสำคัญในอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กและกระจกอีกด้วย

ความสำเร็จนี้ทำให้ Georges Claude ได้ก่อตั้งบริษัท Air Liquide ในปี 1902
ปัจจุบัน Air Liquide ให้บริการแก๊สสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมและทางการแพทย์ เคมี และอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ที่ใหญ่เป็นอันดับ 2 ของโลก และมีมูลค่าบริษัทกว่า 2.8 ล้านล้านบาท

- TotalEnergies

ในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 1 กองทัพฝรั่งเศสประสบปัญหาขาดแคลนน้ำมันอย่างหนัก จนต้องขอความช่วยเหลือจากสหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งในเวลานั้น อุตสาหกรรมน้ำมันในสหรัฐอเมริกาครองสัดส่วนกว่า 70% ของโลก

เมื่อสงครามสิ้นสุดลง ประธานาธิบดีฝรั่งเศสได้มอบหมายให้ Ernest Mercier จัดตั้งบริษัทปิโตรเลียมแห่งฝรั่งเศส (CFP) ในปี 1924 เพื่อความมั่นคงทางพลังงานของฝรั่งเศสเอง

ในปัจจุบัน CFP ได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น TotalEnergies เป็นบริษัทพลังงานที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในฝรั่งเศส
เป็นผู้ผลิตน้ำมันเครื่อง และผลิตภัณฑ์หล่อลื่นทั้งกับยานยนต์และอุตสาหกรรม
มีมูลค่าบริษัทกว่า 3.9 ล้านล้านบาท

สิ่งที่น่าสนใจก็คือ 10 บริษัทที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศฝรั่งเศส
ทุกบริษัทล้วนมีมูลค่าบริษัทมากกว่า 1.1 ล้านล้านบาท
ซึ่งเป็นมูลค่าที่ใหญ่กว่าบริษัทที่มีมูลค่ามากที่สุดในประเทศไทย อย่างบริษัท ปตท.

หลายคนอาจคิดว่า แบรนด์ฝรั่งเศส สร้างเพียงแค่ Story ก็เพียงพอแล้วที่จะสามารถส่งออกไปขายได้ทั่วโลก
แต่ทั้งหมดจะเกิดขึ้นไม่ได้เลย หากไม่มีการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ วิจัยและพัฒนาต่อยอดอย่างเป็นระบบ

และผ่านการบริหารกิจการ โดยเฉพาะการควบรวมแบรนด์ ที่ทำให้การบริหารมีประสิทธิภาพ และเพิ่มช่องทางกระจายสินค้าได้มากขึ้น

อีกสิ่งหนึ่งที่น่าสนใจไม่แพ้กัน ประเทศฝรั่งเศสไม่ได้เชี่ยวชาญแต่แวดวงศิลปะเท่านั้น
เพราะการพัฒนาศิลปะจะเติบโตได้ ส่วนหนึ่งจะต้องเกิดจากการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ในด้านอื่น ๆ ควบคู่กันไป โดยเฉพาะองค์ความรู้ด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

จากการสังเกตบริษัทชั้นนำ 10 บริษัทของแต่ละประเทศ เราก็สามารถบอกได้คร่าว ๆ ว่าประเทศเหล่านั้นมีความเชี่ยวชาญในอุตสาหกรรมด้านไหน และให้ความสำคัญกับอุตสาหกรรมอะไรในอนาคต

สำหรับฝรั่งเศส คงบอกได้ว่า
ประเทศนี้สามารถนำโลกแห่งศิลปะ กับวิทยาศาสตร์ ซึ่งดูเหมือนอยู่คนละขั้วกัน

今天, 應該是最炫最酷的一家公司, Robinhood, 上市的一天. 它獲利了嗎? 我想沒有多少投資人會care. 最關心的, 應該是它的營收成長率, 還有股價.

在我們一直追逐科技成長股, 被他們的高營收成長率, 潛在的高報酬昏眩的時候, 會不會忘記他們醜得要命的財務報表?

而在今年, 大家追逐的這些趨勢股表現不佳的時候, 是不是也給了我們一些省思?

其實美股中, 還有很多財務報表漂亮, 但聽起來一點也不有趣(甚至很無聊)的公司, 但他們股價穩定, 長期下來, 也給了投資人很大的回報. 像之前介紹過的POOL, 過去幾年也是平均一年翻一倍的漲幅.

而在IPO中, 也有這類的好公司.

Carrier Global(CARR), 2020年4月上市的IPO, 算是工業類股, 漲了快5倍. 有在獲利. (開利冷氣應該有聽過?就是這家公司)

Academy Sports and Outdoors (ASO), 民生消費股, 也有獲利, 2020年10月上市的IPO, 目前也漲了3倍.

Jim Cramer: The Biggest Thing That Happened Thursday Was the Boring Stuff

No, it wasn't Robinhood or the mega-cap tech companies, it was names we depend on like Carrier Global.

One of the most glorious things I have seen involving the stock market in ages happened today.

Was it Vlad Tenev ringing the opening bell for his breakthrough, disruptive Robinhood (HOOD) , representing 22 million mostly young new investors? Was it the free-for-all decline in the stock of the "F" in FAANG, Facebook (FB) ? Or the clobbering that Paypal (PYPL) took after what looked to be a good quarter?

Nah. I was bumping into Dave Gitlin, CEO of Carrier Global (CARR) , and his charming daughter, a college student at the University of Wisconsin. They were calmly waiting for me to finish "Squawk on the Street" to say, "Hi," and I couldn't be more thrilled. Because unlike the much ballyhooed Robinhood deal, which seems like a bust, Carrier Global came public back in April 2020 at $12 and today, after tremendous earnings, not sales, but earnings, it made an all-time high at $53, after reporting a terrific number with tremendous HVAC sales, up 31%, and an earnings surprise of 55 cents vs. the 30 cents that Wall Street was expecting.

Carrier, which was spun off when United Technologies merged with Raytheon (RTX) had some tailwinds, like the need to have clean air inside, because of the pandemic and clear air outside because office buildings are responsible for 40% of carbon emissions. But the huge upside surprise and the gigantic buyback belonged to Dave and his team and I that's what I told his daughter. I made sure she knew how proud she should be about how this man made so much money for people. Twelve to 53 in 15 months time is the name of the game.

Look, I am not trying to take away from anything that Robinhood and its co-founder and CEO Vlad Tenev have created. Far from it. They have created billions for themselves and are now letting people participate in their great sales growth. You got a chance to pay a fortune per share and many Robinhoodies did, as tons of stock was allocated to the 22 million people who joined Robinhood, because of a bang up app that every young person seems to know.

I am simply saying that HVAC, yep heating, ventilation and air conditioning is one of the most boring businesses on earth and at times like today, with all of the hoopla of Robinhood it is easy to forget is how lots of money can be made being boring, and I like that. The most exciting thing that happened this year is Carrier helped provide refrigeration for vaccines. That's just fine with me.

Unlike Robinhood, Carrier hasn't brought anyone into the stock market. It's more laser-like focus on air conditioning once spun off from Raytheon means nothing to people. Just Wall Street gibberish. But you have probably walked by a Carrier machine thousands of times and never thought anything of it. Yet, you could have bought it for a song at six times earnings instead of 25 times sales.

The Carriers, with CEOs who pay themselves lavishly but perhaps not excessively, or the Nucor's (NUE) the steel company that's also well managed and sells at six times earnings, represent valuable properties, especially when the U.S. government is about to agree on a trillion dollar infrastructure bill and the country has more than 6% GDP. We don't know why they are re-opening trades or closing trades, delta-variant trades or building and bridge investments. Forgive me, though for comparing the company of Robinhood, with something that may stay special for a while vs. companies that get described as venerable, solid and built to last.

These companies are not rarities. You know people have to eat, right? You know that there would be famine without farming. So why not buy the stock of Agco (AGCO) , No. 2 farm equipment, which went from $40 to $130 in a year and a half without ever being expensive. Combines too boring? Again fine with me. Now that the masks are off -- or at least in some places, although Zoom (ZM) is still crushing it -- I, like many others, including my daughter, didn't like how her teeth looked even as, to me, they were perfect. Dentists tell you to get Align (ALGN) . I wanted them on "Mad Money" but the show was just too darned jammed. The stock's up the most in the S&P 500, with a product that, again, like the Purloined Letter, is right in front of you.

I love tech. Created the term FANG, added the "A" when it was clear that Apple (AAPL) had to take the acronymic stage between another "A" and an "N." I am proud that those who bet against me on Twitter, the legion, are betting against FAANG. I wrote obituaries for a goodly time in my career as a reporter but I never wrote as many as have been penned to talk about the group has already made the ultimate measure on behalf of shareholders.

Oh and it's not like I don't like tech or fin tech. I felt the slings and arrows of Facebook and PayPal today. Facebook's management once again lowered the boom on its future talking about real deceleration in growth. I thought it was too dire. PayPal's Dan Schulman talked about how the separation with its former partner, eBay (EBAY) gets done now and earnings will be hurt. This was one of the least revelatory surprises ever. I think both are practicing UPOD, Underpromising to Overdeliver, and, sure this time might be different, but it's sure been the way they have handled it in the past.

Far better to be in the straight out blow outs like Advance Micro (AMD) which had still one more banner day, this time because the company it is buying, the dowdy Xilinx (XLNX) , a sleepy semiconductor company, had tremendous earnings. The two together could be unassailable and even as AMD is now richly valued it is deservingly so.

I can't wait to hear Vlad Tenev's reflection on Robinhood's debut as a public company and about the novel offering that gave millions of shares to his clients. Vlad's not so much a rags to riches American story. He's a poor Bulgarian to insanely rich American because of his on ingenuity. That's a story with celebrating in itself.

I am simply pointing out that unlike Vlad, whom you would have had invested with when you weren't allowed or able to, Dave Gitlin sure didn't keep you out of the better bet, the stock of HVAC king Carrier.

00:00 In today's episode, I have a question from Umang, who asked, "Hey Rayner, how do I scan the stock markets for my trading setup? Because there are so many stocks out there. Hundreds, if not thousands of stocks."

00:17 So my response to this is that there's a four-step procedure that you can follow, number one: finding a trading setup or a pattern is just like finding a wife.

00:37 if you are looking for a wife who is a brunette, Asian, Chinese, Indian, or whatsoever, you have to know what you're looking for in the first place, and it's the same for trading the markets.

00:54 Are you looking for a trending stock? a breakout stock, or maybe a stock that's tanked over the last twelve months and you're going to buy near the bottom whatsoever.

01:10 Once you've defined your trading setup then you can go into step two: Determine the market cap of the stocks you want to trade. For example, for those of you who are in the U.S., you have Russell 3000. Russell 3000 comprises of the large-cap, mid-cap, and the small-cap stocks. So, if you can define what market capitalization of stocks you want to trade, you can filter it down further. But if you're let's say, in Singapore, there's the large-cap, mid-cap, you have a few thereabout. You don't really need to do this classification, it's only for those of you who are in countries where you have thousands and thousands of stocks.

01:48 So once you have classified the market cap at step two, proceed to step three: Scan the markets. Let's say you want to scan stocks that are trending, what you want to do is to put up the twenty, fifty and two hundred period moving average, so if the stock is above the three moving averages, chances are it's a trending stock. You can also go through your entire watchlist and scan all the stocks which are above these moving averages. Alternatively, if you want to trade breakout stocks, you can just look for stocks that are on a 52-week high, breaking out of their 200-day high, etc. Another example I can give you is that if you want to buy stocks that are doing very bad over the last 12 months and you want to catch bottoms, what you can do is to scan stocks at their 52-week low, 200-day low, and etc.

02:44 Once you've scanned the markets, what you want to do is do number four: Put it all in a spreadsheet. Let's say you have 500 stocks to scan, you can do it all on the weekend. You want to put down those stocks in a spreadsheet that are close to having their setup occur so that when the market opens next week, you will only focus on those stocks in your spreadsheet that are about to have their setup occur. So, what you want to do is to find the gems among your 500 stocks and put it into a spreadsheet, and focus on it this coming week.

03:40 Now that you can scan the stock market and find the trading setups that you want, some of you might be wondering if there is any software to do this work for you? The only one that I do know of is Finviz, F-I-N-V-I-Z, and that is only for the U.S. stock market. They have this kind of quick scanner on whether you want to use fundamentals or technicals. As for local Singaporean stocks, Philippine stocks, Indian stocks, I do not know of such tools that are in the market right now. But for the U.S. there is Finviz. If there are no scanners you can just go through the four steps I shared with you. Number one, define your trading setup. Number two, know the market cap that you want to trade. Number three, scan the markets. And number four, put those stocks that you have scanned into a spreadsheet so you can track them when the market opens this coming week.
